Our Youth Ministry
Mission Statement: The Ascension Youth Community (AYC) exists to SHARE God’s love by Strengthening fellow believers, Helping those in need, Adoring the One who made us, Reaching out to others, and Experiencing Christian fellowship in new and exciting ways.
The AYC mission statement is based on the Great Commandment (Matt. 22:37-40) and the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20). It is broken up into five purposes that we put in the acronym SHARE to make them easier to remember.

Strengthen: Discipleship
Discipleship is defined as the building up or strengthening of believers in their quest to be like Christ. Activities that fall under this purpose can include Bible study, accountability partners, Acquire the Fire, Happening, Youth Encounter Spirit (Y.E.S.), and summer camp.
Help: Ministry
Ministry can be defined as meeting needs with love. Our church has the belief that anyone can be a minister by meeting others’ needs with love, and AYC holds that belief as well. Activities tt fall under the purpose of ministry can include service projects, sponsoring a child through Compassion International, and helping out with a church beautification day.
Adore: Worship
Worship is defined as celebrating God’s presence and honoring Him with your lifestyle. They way you live out your life can be worship. Activities that fall under the purpose of worship can include youth-led worship services, youth choir, Discovering Jesus, and participating in the Stations of the Cross.
Reach: Evangelism
Evangelism can be defined as Sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with those who don’t yet have a personal relationship with Him. Activities that fall under this purpose can include Youth Alpha, mission trips, friendship evangelism, and inviting those from the community to join us for caroling at Christmas time.
Experience: Fellowship
Fellowship is defined as the companionship of Christians on equal and friendly terms. This is basically the time we get together and enjoy each other’s company. Activities that fall under this purpose can include Sunday evening youth meetings, parties, Reel Time, and any other activity we do that does not fall under any of the other four purposes.
