The Reverend Todd Bryant, Rector

My wife and kids are thrilled to be part of Ascension. I came to Ascension in the Fall of 2011 and look forward to growing the Kingdom of God in this place as the pastor. Feel free to "friend" me on www.facebook.com/BryantTodd and 'like" our church at www.facebook.com/AscensionHouston. Before coming to Ascension, I went to Seminary of the Southwest, class of 2006. My first placement was at St. Christopher in League City under the Rev. Dr. Tom Day, www.stchrischurch.org. From there, I went to Palmer Church as the missioner to Rice and the Texas Medical Center, www.palmerchurch.org, before becoming Ascension's pastor.

Hilarie Rock, Parish Secretary

Hilarie has a background in Oil and Gas recruiting, as an executive assistant to several Presidents and most recently as a human resources consultant. She has a 5 year old son, Mitchell. As a child Hilarie attended Ascension with her family. She is now a member of Bethel Church of Houston where she has taught VBS, organized the Christmas play and was a leader in the women's bible study classes. She is so excited to become a part of the Ascension family and truly looks forward to meeting everyone.

John Calaway, Bookkeeper

I am the bookkeeper at Ascension Episcopal Church and have been a member of the church for 17 years. I am a past vestry member, serving one year as Junior Warden. My present service includes usher and sound help for the 8:00 service.

Leslie Nirider, Ascension Membership

I grew up in West Texas, went to school in Sherman Texas at Austin College,  lived overseas and traveled.  My husband and I made Ascension our church home in the 90s.  Ascension Episcopal School was the right place for our children.  They have made friends of all ages here that will last their lifetime.  I love helping people find ways to make church more than a Sunday thing; it is community in Christ.  Come and see Ascension in West Houston.

Charles Jordan, Choirmaster & Organist

A native of Dawson, TX, Charles did both undergraduate and graduate work at S.M.U. in Dallas, majoring in performance pipe organ and studying conducting and church music as well.  He served Episcopal churches in Texarkana, TX and Alexandria, LA before coming to Ascension Parish in 1985. Charles is a long time member of the American Guild of Organists & is active in the Houston Chapter. He and his wife, Patricia, are pet parents of 17 year old Dudley, a Cocker Spaniel, and Sebastian, a 2 year old cream Tabby.
