Altar Guild

The Altar Guild is responsible for preparing the Nave for all worship services. This includes regularly scheduled services as well as wedding rehearsals, weddings, baptisms, funerals, ordinations and special occasional services. Members order the flowers for weekly services. We also order the wine and wafers used for Holy Communion. In addition, we maintain the flower chart, arrange the altar flowers for delivery to the sick and homebound, polish the Communion vessels, and launder the linens. There are presently 23 women on the Altar Guild, divided into 5 teams. This is a joyful and rewarding ministry and we would love to have some new members!

The purpose of the Flower Ministry is to take the altar flowers to the sick and homebound after Sunday services. Members of the Altar Guild place the flowers into two or three smaller containers after the 10:30 service, and these arrangements are available to all members of the parish for distribution to sick or homebound friends and relatives. This ministry needs greater participation by parishioners, and a greater awareness of the availability of the flowers.
